Energy assessments
This is to assess how much energy the organisation consumes in terms of its travel, electrical and thermal
and to evaluate what measures can be taken to make more energy efficient.
An assessment will show the problems that may, when corrected, save significant amounts of energy over time.
Key areas for energy assessments are
• Travel – fuel energy
• Lighting – Electrical energy
• Heating – Electrical and thermal energy
• Cooling – Electrical and Thermal energy
Areas of losing energy and less efficient ways of spending energy can be identified. With good training,
follow up assessments can be done by the organisation itself to monitor the progress.
